Home Styling

Firstly, I am hugely passionate about making homes that people can not only be proud of, but homes that function well for their every-day use. When your home is right it makes you happy. When you’re happy with your home and happy with the way it works for you, it can be a real game changer for your everyday well being. Not only do you have a great place to live but a lot of the joy is in the not noticing everything that used to drive you up the wall. When you get it right, you get that easy, comfortable & relaxed feeling when you're home.  You love your home again - You simply can't put a price on that.​ FIND OUT MORE

How it all started

I grew up in London, got a degree from Loughborough University and spent twenty years working in Marketing for large corporates in central London. I headed up some amazing teams and had a great time learning a lot about not only marketing but business in general. I always loved interiors, loving putting my first flat together and helping my friends.  I met my husband Rob at work, he headed up the commercial team and had followed the bright lights to London after starting his working life on building sites where he grew up in Devon.

We got married and just after we had our kids, made the big move down to Sussex and have never looked back. I qualified in Interior Design while still working on marketing projects for various start ups and worked for an Interior Designer who taught me a lot - mostly about what I didn’t want my own business to look like.

I started The Sussex Home Stylist as an Instagram account that grew and as lock down hit I found myself helping friends and family with their homes online. And so it all began.

I want to get my hands dirty creating homes that people love.  Offering our clients exactly the same principles we use when we renovate our own home; good quality, affordable solutions that work well and look great.  Knowing when and how to save and where to spend your budget wisely to make it stretch.   

I know I can create great looking homes but I know my limitations. That’s why I work with talented people across West Sussex and I’m proud of the team we’ve worked hard to create.

The Whole Shebang

We started as just a design business but the more clients we worked with, the more we got asked if we were able to recommend good trades people. I know from my own experience that getting good trades that are not only recommended but also available can be impossible. So we have, over time, built up our own team of trades who deliver great work and love what they do; that bit was very important to us as we believe that unless you don’t love what you do, you won’t deliver work that will be loved. Styling to Sell

My passion for renovating and styling homes has meant that I have moved house a LOT! Each time I have maximised the property for sale to get the very best price for my next move, putting in the graft and often learning the hard way. I believe preparing your home to sell it makes a big difference not only to the price you are able to achieve but the time it takes to sell. I also believe that in many cases a few inexpensive small changes can really make a difference. FIND OUT MORE

Styling Rentals

One of my favourite projects to date was styling a house in the beautiful South of France. As a holiday rental on a tight budget it was important to make it stand out but to also make it feel like a home away from home. The property was hugely successful firstly as a rental and then as a family home. My years working for a hotel chain taught me what a client expects from a stay and how to offer those simple touches that really make a difference. Now I’m lucky enough to be helping people in Sussex design, style and market their Airbnbs to achieve the highest yield possible and the maximum occupancy.

Our Own Home

Many of our own clients come to us having watched us renovate our own home on our social media. We have renovated quite a few homes now. We have what some would call an unhealthy appetite for taking on run down homes that need a complete renovation. We are currently renovating a home we have no plans to leave in Steyning, West Sussex. It’s a big old run down property that’s one hundred years old and extremely tired. We’re in our element with it, it’s a fantastic house and we feel very lucky to be able to work and live in such a gorgeous part of the world.
